Casey Lessard

Casey Lessard’s portraiture and candid photojournalism have earned acclaim locally, provincially, nationally and internationally.

Casey lives in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada, where he works for Northern News Services as an Arctic journalist. Since August 2011, he has worked in Yellowknife, NWT, flown with Santa to almost every Nunavut community as far north as Resolute and down to Churchill, Manitoba, and most recently to Whitehorse, Yukon, for the 2012 Arctic Winter Games.

Until 2010, he was the publisher one of Ontario’s best small newspapers, the Grand Bend Strip.

As a photographer and writer, he has won numerous provincial and national awards through OCNA and CCNA competitions. Casey was named the Ontario Community Newspaper Association’s second best photographer in 2007, 2008 and 2010.

In 2010, Casey was named by Scott Bourne of PhotoFocus as a finalist for his Emerging Photographer of the Year competition.
